I have turned my 2 car garage into an office. Now my teenage son wants part of the office as his room. Can we line bookcases up to divide the room and if so how should we secure them so that they dont fall over?

about five weeks ago i put too much varnish on my bookcases, or atleast i think so, and i didn't sand them first. now they have been sticky when you put your hand on it. anyway i can get the sticnkyness off of them withought having to take it all off and sand it first and do it over?

I just want to start building bookcases, and was wondering what tools I would need. I appreciate anyone answering but I am hoping that I will get an answer from a woodworker or experienced person.

I am having a carpenter friend build floor-to-ceiling bookcases for my living room renovation. I plan on painting them white and want them to look professional. I'd like to know the best type of wood for such a project. I've heard poplar and maple are great hardwoods for painting? Thanks!

Im renting a small room witn not alot of space. I manged to decorate nicely but the bookcase I have is cramped into the room, are there bookcases that I can hang on the wall? I looked on Target and cant find any.

I have 2 (tall and narrow yet very heavy) bookcases just moved to an area with extra thick carpet padding. They easily tilt back and forth with ease. I need to anchor them to the wall but how? I take it that I will need to screw conecting hardware in to the wall and bookshelves, but I do not know how to and with what hardware. Please help I do not want my kids and/or pets to get crushed accidentally!

I need 2x5 shelf bookcases but everything now-a-days is "engineer wood." I feel like I could buy a few boards, cut them, nail them together, and make something more durable ...but is it really worth the time? Any thoughts?

i want to buy a bookcase that fits in my converted atttic, but the angle of the roof, means that i cant buy a square one (obviously because it doesnt fit). could someone please tell me where i could find one that fits next to or flush with the roof please?

Could you tell me how are the quality of IKEA/Argos bookcases? They look good on catalogue, but what is the reality?
