How were guests seating in dining room tables during the middle ages and what kind of decorations and festivities that went along.

I am hosting my very first champagne/afternoon tea party, I have everything down except where to seat the guests, can they sit at the dining room table, or does it have to be a parlor type setting? Also, if seated at the dining room table would it be considered a High Tea, and do I need to adjust the time and menu accordingly?

I have 2 kids who drop food all the time but I dont want to use plastic.

I'm sure there must be a way to cut fabric out and get a corner that doesn't show creases or folds and doesn't bunch up so that the seat stands away from the chair frame. I'm not sure how to do that. Any thoughts or guidance?

It,s for a close friend, but she still wants to pay me something for my time and I don't want to be unreasonable.

im looking for a booster seat which will fit on to a dining room chair suitable for a 5 year old. all the ones iv seen are for up to 3 years only. do you know of any on the market for older children? thanks

I'm recovering my upholstered dining room chairs' seats. The old seats were covered in a solid color. The new fabric I bought has a floral, tapestry type pattern with a definite top and bottom. Should the top of the pattern go at the back (where your back goes) or the front (where your legs go) of the seat? The backs are not upholstered. Thanks!!

I've taken the old material and horse hair off of my dining room chair seats and am ready to put foam and cotton batting and then the new material on. Looking at 2 inch foam, is that too thick?

My dining is room has wood floors and the wall are painted Monroe Bisque ( which is a light golden beige). I have a large dining room table that seats ten, and I have burgundy chair covers on all 10 chairs. I was thinking of doing burgundy curtains/drapes for my two small picture windows but didn't know if that would be too much with the chair covers. Any suggestions?
