What kind of UV lamps would do? I'd activate them off pool operation hours. In an extreme scenario, could I use tanning lamps and even leave them on while te pool is being used? It wouldn't be much different from the real solar radiation. Any experience so far?

Where can you get those kind of lamps??? Please help and put the link of the website. If it's over 20 bucks we don't want to hear about it!

Each lamp uses an 11W bulb, so it shouldn't use too much power, right? I'm attaching the lamps to a center piece, and hanging it from a ceiling fixture. I'm assuming desk lamps don't have a ground wire, but then again, I'm not too familiar with this sort of thing. Thanks.

I have read that LED lamps reduce the consumption of electricity to a great extent. But are they connected to the circuit along with resistors? In such case how they reduce the consumption of electricity?

I bought a second hand, mini sun bed to sustain a few bonsai trees, this winter, indoor. The sun bed has a build in ballast to power 6X40W fluorescent lamps, thus a 240W system (220V~50Hz). Unfortunately the UV-lamps do not emit the best spectrum needed for cultivation and growth. The lamps I need to replace the UV-lamps with, has to be 590mm in length, but the highest wattage, available in this length is 20W. I plan to keep 2 of the UV lamps in the system. I want to know if I am going to blow the 20W lamps by I replacing the old 40W lamps. If so, why?

I am moving into an older apartment and there are no ceiling lamps in the bedroom and living room. I bought a floor lamp from Walmart and 75W 'daylight' energy saving bulb from Home Depot. I find the lighting dull and not good enough to read with-I'm a student. This is really bothering me, how best can I light the rooms using lamps and have adequate light in them? I want them well illuminated and don't want to ruin my eyes either.

also, where can i find them? my roommate and i are starting growing plants indoors and then we are putting them outside, im looking for the best growing lamps there are. i heard of a VHO lamp, but i have no idea what that is. please help! I'm growing nothing that i couldn't put outside for the rest of the world to see.

I have one UVB 5.0 Lamp, and 2 household heat lamps. How long do i keep each on for and are there any further instructions?

Also, if you do use different lamps do you use the same lamp shades?
